Musical comedy is back! Tony Award winner Faith Prince stars in the flrst Broadway revival of Bells Are Ringing, written by the incomparable writing team of Betty Comden and Adolph Green (book and lyrics) and Jule Styne (music). This new production, dircctcd by Tina Landau and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun, also stars Marc Kudisch. Bells Are Ringing opens at the Plymouth Theatre (236 West 45th Street) on Thursday, April 12, with preview periormances beginning on Tuesday, March 13. Bells Are Ringhig is produced by Mitchell Maxwell, Victoria Maxwell and Mark Balsam for Momentum Productions, Inc.; Robert Barandes; Richard Bernstein; and James L. Simon.

Faith Prince stars as Ella Peterson, a spirited telephone operator at Susanswerphone, an answering service in swanky l950's New York. Eager to help, she becomes entangled in the lives
of her clients and falls for Jeffrey Moss (Marc Kudisch), the dashing but creatively blocked playwright who captures her heart. The lush score features such classic songs as "Just In Time," "The Party's Over," "I Met a Girl," "Long Before I Knew You" and "It's a Simple Littie System."

Bells Are Ringing also stars David Garrison (Titanic, "Married With Children") as Sandor and Beth Fowler (Beauty and the Beast, Sweeney Todd) as Sue. Featured in the cast are Martin Moran (Cabaret, Titanic) as Kitchell, Robert Ari (Laughter on the 23rd Floor) as Barnes and Jeffrey Bean (Amadeus) as Francis. The ensemble includes Julio Agustin Joanne Baum, David Brummel, Caitlin Carter, Lawrence Clayton, James Hadley, Roy Harcourt, Stacey Harris, Joan Hess, Emily Hsu, Shane Kirkpatrick, Greg Reuter, Josh Rhodes, Alice Rietveld, Darren Ritchie, Janelle Anne Robinson, Linda Romoff and Kelly Sullivan.

Bells Are Ringing has sets by Riccardo Hernandez, costumes by David C. Woolard, lighting by Donald Holder and orchestrations by Don Sebesky. David Evans will musical direct.

The Broadway run follows an out-of-town engagement at Stamford, CT's Palace Theatre from February 20 through February 25.

Tickets for Bells Are Ringing are $65 - $85 ($50 - $75 for Wednesday matinees) and are currently on sale through Tele-Charge (212-239-6200). The Plymouth Theatre box office (236 West 45th Street) opens on Monday, February 12. The performance schedule for Bells Are Ringing is Tuesday - Saturday evenings at 8:00PM, Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2:00PM, and Sunday matinees at 3:00PM.

THE ORIGINAL PRODUCTIQN - Bells Are Ringing opened at Broadway's Shubert Theatre on November 29, 1956, and ran for 924 performances. Judy Holliday won a Tony Award for Best Actress for her legendary portrayal of Ella, beating out both Julie Andrews and Ethel Merman. Her co-star, Sydney Chaplin, won that season's Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor. The show also received Tony Award nominations for Best Musical and Best Choreography (Jerome Robbins and Bob Fosse). Ms. Holliday later reprised her starring role in the 1960 film.
